A relatively simply series about 4 friends and the crazy hijinks and adventures they get into. Staring the chaotic Verry Berry, cool-guy Leaf, nervous wreak Twig and the leader Rocksy. Together they live in the backyard of a punk rock girl band who apparently haven't mowed their lawn in a very long time. Leading to a whole host of anthropomorphic critters and objects. A SpongeBob but in your backyard is probably the simplest description of the show and its general vibe. While it never reaches the heights that SpongeBob reached, The Mighty Ones is a solid show. Good jokes, fun adventures, some life lessons sprinkled in. Like most cartoons there are some double meaning jokes tossed in for adults. In terms of language the worst the show ever uses is "shut up". Violence wise it follows standard Looney Tunes rules, everything is reset each episode. So characters disintegrate into dust, get body hijacked by brain worms or get totally buff by fertilizer on the regular. I'd say its fine for children, again same vibe as SpongeBob, so if that show is cool with parents The Mighty Ones will be as well. Verry Berry is the standout character as she is an agent of chaos who will go to extremes to do things her way. Though when things eventually go wrong she does eventually apologize, before she launches into her next scheme. The show does a good job of rotating through each character so they all have their own episodes. They have unique personalities so they all very distinct and different enough from each other that their adventures have a distinct feel to them. Instead of being just interchangeable scripts that any of them could be in. The show survived one cancellation, moving from Hulu to Peacock (NBC). This is noted in a 4th wall nod by the characters and location change in first 4 episodes of season 3. When a new hipster couple moves into the house and replaces the yard with AstroTurf. The Mighty Ones subsequently "time travel", aka go next door, to where the punk girls now live after having failed to pay their rent. The show seems to be anticipating not being renewed for a 5th season. The final episode of season 4, "Boat Day", is bitter sweet goodbye as our characters sail off into a literal streaming void. The show seems to have suffered from bad or no marketing. I only stumbled onto it through pure accident. Looking online there are no super cuts of funniest moments on YouTube or anything else indicating a strong audience community. I think the show just got very unlucky, there are much worse cartoons out there that get far more traction online. So its sad to see this one fade into obscurity. Overall I enjoyed the show and would recommend giving it a watch. Episode S01E02 - The Great Invisi-Barrier, is a good example of the Mighty Ones acting as a team to overcome another obstacle the punk girls leave in the backyard. Episode S04E01 - Battle of the Babies, is a fun Godzilla style episode that demonstrates how creative the show can be.
