A very rudimentary story, that is neither interesting, nor it is worth 7 long episodes. Yet the chronology is twisted so they can go over and over the same scenes. And yes, simple minded audiences might enjoy the slow telenovela pace. And the camera and lighting are atrocious:…

Ok, I’ll admit to going a bit nutty & joining TMDB to review this series. The concept is fascinating the execution (at times) and some of the characters are poor and annoying, in that order. First off, I’m not a fan of over the top characters with a possible exception of those…

A very rudimentary story, that is neither interesting, nor it is worth 7 long episodes. Yet the chronology is twisted so they can go over and over the same scenes. And yes, simple minded audiences might enjoy the slow telenovela pace. And the camera and lighting are atrocious: 1990s home video quality. The script is so badly done, they need the child to tell the story, because all that action is just a distraction.
Ok, I’ll admit to going a bit nutty & joining TMDB to review this series. The concept is fascinating the execution (at times) and some of the characters are poor and annoying, in that order. First off, I’m not a fan of over the top characters with a possible exception of those populating the bizarro worlds created by Sensei Miike. I mean the whole idea of featuring Liberdade as contributing character rather than a backdrop would be amazing. But ok, even as a backdrop it’s cool so alright then. What pisses me off the most is the collective character of the police as a whole. They’re assholes with the collective IQ of a herd of Gnu plain and simple. Not sure which one is less appealing but the lady cop comes close to earning the title of Lead Asshole. Anyway, it’s difficult to watch so much wasted potential… almost as difficult as it is to sit thru minutes of exposition by that little turd Leo ( I was sooooo rooting for a certain character to do him harm I was yelling “Get Him, Get Him” at the top of my lungs at one point. Admittedly I’m not a fan of child actors, pretty sure all those reruns of Family Affair had something to do with my state of mind. Sigh… Like one characters says “…you’re left wondering if everything is really worth it…”
