Amanda Degenhardt

Amanda Degenhardt began her creative career at age eight in the ballet where she went on to dance in the Tampa, FL Ballet Company and local musical theater. Later she became a daily news writer/editor and photojournalist in college while doing undergraduate work. Her career took off initially as a marketing director for the architecture and building industry and she still works as a leasing and property manager. About six years ago, she began to study acting in studio and wanting to get representation, made her own 45 min. film (SAG New Media) at the advice of one of her mentors. After producing the first film, she began working with other independent film makers and made a couple of television appearances. She submitted her first feature script to the Academy of Motion Pictures arts and sciences and is still working on that to revise and hopefully someday see it produced. She is a director while in front of the camera and prepares the back story and layers of detail for the roles she plays. This type of work requires a real understanding of cinematography and editing tools. It is her wish to act in feature films and television in both dramatic and comedic roles and to someday be able to collaborate as an assistant director or co-writer on significant work. She is single and lives in Atlanta Georgia.
