After honing his craft on stage, he transitioned to television and film, where he began landing roles in the 1970s. His breakthrough came in the 1980s with the role of Lee Stetson (Scarecrow) in the popular TV series *Scarecrow and Mrs. King*, where he starred alongside Kate Jackson.
