She rose to prominence in the mid-1990s through her public appearances as well as a revealing cameo role in the film *Männerpension*. At the time, she was frequently labeled a "vamp" or "seductress" by the media. Beginning in 1996, she played the role of physiotherapist Elke Pflüger in the television series *Nikola*.
