Gregorio Montemayor Fernandez was a prominent Filipino film actor and director, recognized for his significant contributions to Philippine cinema. Born in Lubao, Pampanga, he was the son of Eugenio Araneta Fernandez, a former mayor of Lubao, and Maria Montemayor. Fernandez pursued a career in dentistry, graduating from the Philippine Dental College. To support his studies, he worked as a tax agent for the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
