(ENGLISH) It’s watchable, that much is true. As a disaster miniseries, it delivers the basics quite well: tension, countdown energy, striking effects, and that feeling that everything could explode at any moment. In four episodes it gets in quickly, doesn’t drag itself out, and keeps enough momentum to make you want to move on to the next one. The problem is that the more seriously you try to take it, the harder it is to buy into it. There are decisions, reactions, and situations that feel very forced, as if the script were more concerned with pushing the spectacle forward than with maintaining even a minimum level of credibility. And in a story like this, that ends up weighing quite a lot. Visually, it has some effective moments. The volcano, the chaos, the natural threat, and some of the effects are handled well enough, and that is where much of its strength lies. When it focuses on the disaster itself and the immediate tension, it works better than when it tries to sell the human drama as something deep. It also helps that it doesn’t lean too heavily into melodrama, at least compared to other productions of this kind. It moves straight ahead and doesn’t overindulge too much. Even so, I never really believed most of what was happening, and that leaves the emotional involvement only halfway there. In the end, it felt like one of those series you can watch without asking too much from it, and that may work if you accept from the start that logic is going to take quite a beating. But the more you think about it, the more the weaknesses show, and that takes quite a lot away from it. Overall, it entertained me more because of the catastrophe element than because of the story itself. At times it is very implausible and quite clumsy on the dramatic side, so yes, it is watchable, but it does not really amount to much more than that.
